The entire city of Kanai Ward is rendered in 3D, allowing players to roam freely. Visit various locations, including crime scenes, and gather clues through questioning and investigation.

Conduct Investigations Alongside Master Detectives

Yuma will investigate crimes with Master Detectives of the World Detective Organization, a group devoted to eradicating the world's unsolved mysteries. Each Master Detective has a supernatural ability known as a Forensic Forte, enabling them to collect facts and evidence outside the reach of an ordinary person. The abilities are unique to each detective. Mimic body types and voices with Disguise, detect heartbeats and whispers with Audial Aptitude, and witness past crimes scenes with Postcognition. These Fortes can also be shared with Yuma under the right conditions. Borrow the powers of the Master Detectives to advance the investigation.

A Realm Where Mysteries are Materialized, the Mystery Labyrinth

Progress through the Mystery Labyrinth, where the mysteries of the real world take form, and obtain the truth by unraveling the riddles related to the case. The Mystery Labyrinth is a space in which neither humans nor Amaterasu Corporation, who cover up inconvenient facts, can interfere. By traversing this maze, players can reach the truth.

Reasoning Death Match: Slash the Mystery Phantom!

As players progress through the Mystery Labyrinth, they will encounter a Mystery Phantom and be thrown into the Reasoning Death Match. A Mystery Phantom is the materialized will of the person trying to bury the case and prevent the truth from being revealed. They'll stand before Yuma and argue against his reasoning. In the Reasoning Death Match, the player will need to identify contradictory statements while dodging the Mystery Phantom's claims. Rebut the contradiction with evidence and slash through it with the Solution Blade!

Memory Shards

Statues that look just like Shinigami or "Memory Shards" are scattered across Kanai Ward. By collecting these, players will be able to view memorable episodes between Yuma and the Master Detectives since their arrival in the city.
Hints about the locations of Memory Shards can be found through the menu screen.

Requests

There are many troubled people in need of help in Kanai Ward.
Although the Amaterasu Corporation Peacekeepers play a police-like role, they're not interested in protecting ordinary citizens and do not take their concerns seriously. It is a detective's duty to help people out by taking on their requests.
The requests range from locating a book to searching for a missing child. Enjoy stories outside the main story by accepting them.
